After dedicating a compilation to the local scene, Plaisance Records is proud to release its third release, « Triad Affect », a collaborative EP between local heroes Pura Pura, Gipsyan and Tom Manzarek.

United at the studio for the first time this year, the three producers have revealed a unique and versatile project.
At 26 years old, Pura Pura spent already half of his life producing or djing. He’s still now exploring club music in all of its aspects, between jersey club, jungle, drill, amapiano and even more.
Gipsyan has grown with the rise of club music. He is now a proud representation of how deep and versatile the club can be, going from hard-drum to hot dancehall or shatta riddim.
Tom Manzarek is a beatmaker converted to club through djing. His sound is unique in a way, merging all type of influence, as dub, jazz and afro into the perspective of burning a dancefloor.

« Triad Affect » is exploring a new way of producing and collaborating. Each one of them have to collaborate on a track, meanwhile the last one is on remix duty. At the end, we present 6 tracks produced side-by-side, exploring the sound of dancehall, afro, jersey club, amapiano and jungle.

Pura Pura and Tom Manzarek start the EP with « Azurat Riddim » a strong 107bpm riddim, introducing dancehall influences as much as oriental sounds. Gipsyan is then collaborating with Tom Manzarek on « Mezcal Punch », an hybrid track, very much on loop, merging afro patterns with baile funk and a unique UK sound. Then, Pura Pura and Gipsyan present « Ice Patrol », a 160bpm track, going fast and strong with a unique blend between dancehall and jungle.

Going further in the collaboration process, every track is then remixed.
Gipsyan is introducing his own perception of the rising amapiano sound, with a certain touch of baltimore club on « Azurat Riddim », taking away the kick, to focus on the repetitive melody. Pura Pura is then delivering a tribute to jersey club music with his remix of « Mezcal Punch ». A 100% energetic, evolutive and surprising track to play at every peak time. To end the remix duties, Tom Manzarek is flipping the fast and rough « Ice Patrol » into his own way of producing, taking the intensity of the original rave sounds into a version infused with afro pattern.
